Mortars and concretes

I take a lot of people think that mortar and concrete, are not really worth writing an article about - after all, just mix them, and get on with the job that you go to use them for art. However, different jobs require different materials and different amounts of these materials. The leadership here is what I have successfully over the years, and I hope it will also be beneficial to you. The weights vary from quarry sand and gravel or wood chips, etc. because of their waterUse the following guidelines for content by volume.

01:05 For a more concrete path, where 1 is the normal dry cement and 5 for sand and gravel. Of concrete initiatives to the mix might be a bit 'stronger, 1:4. If you are a brick, is 1:4 (sand). Rendering with 01:04 (2:02 soft sand washed well). If you make a screed, it should be 1:3 (sharp sand). Additives are available for many activities, if necessary. Plasticizer is excellent in a mortar, but be careful not touse too much. A frost proofer may help if the temperature drops to around the zero mark, although I prefer not to cement, when it is cold, just to be safe it is. If it's cold or wet, you can speed the drying accelerator for about an hour, although I must admit that I like to air dry. For rendering, we get a first hand impregnation of need, so not every bridge damp proof courses, of course. You must also fill in when a basement.

ToUse the tools, you should two blades - one for the dry stuff, the other for wet. Need a couple of buckets, a trowel, a garden hose (an external tap is very convenient), card (if mixing by hand), and a wheelbarrow.

If you have a big enough job, you are better off with a mixer for rent, if not one. If you are one who sits on a tripod, must ensure that it is really shocked, before you run it. Put most of the water, then half of the reactors, leave for a few minutes, turnthen add half of the cement. Fill out the remaining water, cement and gravel and leave the remaining mix for about three minutes. It should be noted that the concrete is smooth, the blades. Tip the mixture into the wheelbarrow, while the mixing drum is still turning. Pour water into the mixer for cement to dry on the sides to help - this water is useful when you start the next game. When you are finished with the mixer, be sure to give it a good clean, inside and outthe drum. I remember my first boss told me that they can drink water out of it if I had done the cleaning properly. I tend to remember, remember when cleaning tools.

If there is a smaller task, you can easily mix the required amount by hand. Put sand or sand / aggregate on a board or other hard, flat surface. Add the dry cement and mix well with a square shovel nose (as opposed to the round side). Form a well in the center, pulling the mixture to dryon all sides. Pour half the water needed and additives you want to use. Gently prod the dry ingredients into the liquid, and then start it. If a friend at hand to make him go to reach, since it is much easier when it is switched on both sides. Add the remaining water, mix well and the type of cut through it with a shovel - this will show a mixed wet parts or parts that are too.

Might want or need color in your mortar or concrete. IfIt 'available in powder form. Be sure to always measure carefully to avoid color changes in different batches.
